Exclamation Agrred Mortgage offer witdrawn 1 day prior to completion

Hi I also posted this question in the legal forum but beware of the following: an uncle of mine suffered a setback this week as 1 day before completion his mortgage offer was withdrawn by the Abbey.

I have not had a chance to check the conditions but surely this can't be right, solicitors expenses house moving organized, financial adviser bill etc all costs incurred

Has this been happening to many this past week?

Unfortunately it's been happening - but I was under the impression they were being withdrawn before being offered - not offered and then withdrawn while the paperwork was being processed.
