lots of factors affect this statistic. Including more people going to uni, therefore putting off buying a house until later on in life, as well as the much higher prices these days and the need for a much bigger deposit.

Well I'm one of that 34% of first time buyer under the age of 30. I think it all depends on people personal circumstance as well as the financial market.
