Default Boiler or gas problems?

I'm looking for people who've experienced boiler and gas appliance problems shortly after moving home.

I'd be especially interested to hear from people who had Carbon Monoxide related issues.

I'm doing some research into whether these things are properly checked for across the UK when house buyers have conveyancing and survey work carried out, as I know several people who have had serious problems within 6 months of moving home. Including Carbon Monoxide poisoning and a dangerously fitted boiler breaking down.

Let me know if you'd be willing to be a case study for this project.
