Sadly a few here in Cornwall have had to close too, a few good friends in the building industry have had to cease trading. I think its just a time for the rest of us to batten down the hatches, weather the storm, and wait for the world to come right again.

pgraves is right here, it will be necssary to batten down the hatches and get through the next couple of years or so.
It will be a tough time for the construction industry in general, but builders offering good product and a good service should continue to do business. In the current climate if you look at someone tyring to move home, by the time you add up all the cost of moving i.e. stamp duty, legal fees, estate agent fees etc along with the general difficulty many will prefer to spend said money on home improvements.
