Hello all,
I have a bit of a complicated query that I wonder if you could help me with. We currently own the leasehold on a flat on the top floor of a building that has been converted to flats. There are two flats on the top floor - ours, and our neighbours. We have asked the freeholder if they would be interested in selling us the attic, which runs above BOTH flats, but are concerned that there might be legal issues with the owners of the flat next door if we wished to convert the attic above them. Does anybody know if this might be the case, and if so, how we should proceed? Thanks so much! |

This can't really be answered without looking at both of the relevant leases to see if there are any provisions in them that could be affected by the addition of the whole loft area to your lease.
