Hi All.
I'm hoping to buy my first home later on in the year, I've looked at properties with-in my price range to give me an idea of what I'll get. My question is: other than my deposit what other costs/fees do I need to be prepared for, and how much with these be? Thanks in advance. |

As a rough guide I would prepare for the following:
Stamp duty: Purchase price Less than £125k there is none, purchase price over £125k it is 1% of purchase price purchase price over £250k it is 3% of purchase price Solicitors - anywhare from £850 plus at a guess valuation fee ( for mortgage) - can be free, or up to approx £500 depending on lender and purchase price Mortgage arrangement fee - anywhere from 0 to £2000 plus, but most are between £500 and £1000 (can be added to mortgage) moving costs - depends on amount of stuff. This is a very rough guide, if you want more specific costs, you are welcome to contact me and we can take a more detailed look. I am a mortgage broker so will be able to give you accurate costs for the mortgage and appropriate advice about it too. |
