Default Buying flat in Clerkenwell area

Hi, I should start by introducing myself. I am a 20 year old student and have never bought a flat before.
However I am coming to London to study and am considering buying a flat in London and consider it as an investment while at the same time living in it.
I have been looking at the Clerkenwell area for one bedroom flats and it seems the prices are reasonable at the moment compared to what it is possible to get in other areas around London.

Any thoughts on it, considering that I would only keep the flat for 3 or 4 years ?

You might want to factor in weak economic recovery into your plans. 3-4 years is an awfully short time to hold any investment, and you may find you get caught up in adverse conditions, ie, property not selling fast which delays the sale, or even negative equity if property prices were to fall further - which has been widely predicted.
