Buying a property that is cheap because of the condition it is in I have always liked that idea. Do it up and sell it on, and there is a bit of satisfaction about improving an area.

From my experience in renting to students i strongly suggest moving as far away, as you can, sure you can tell them about the damages to the house will result in fines or what have ya, but listen there students they have no money, there young and vunrable, and will throw house partys, my buildings have been completed messed from the students, DONT do it ;D

Wales tends to have some of the cheapest property. If you're looking to buy check out Broadgate Residential Investments. They have some properties for around £30k in Wales and Burnley.

It is of course all relative (to mean salary in the area etc), the further north you go the cheaper it tends to get to buy, but then when you sell again it will still be cheap, so no greater a profit margin than if you bought somewhere expensive in the first place.
Do your research online and through estate agent websites to find somewhere that suits you. |

Lots of the major portals out there like MSN and Virgin Media have ran features on the cheapest areas to buy in the UK. I’m sure if you do a search you can find these articles.
