I totally understand where your frustration is coming from. I also agree thats how it should happen. However just take a step back from the situation and the angle you have seen it from. The EAs responsibility is to the seller (and paying client) as others have stated so they can have a variety of reasons to call other buyers first, for example with another client, they have a very certain and deeper knowledge of their needs and financiail situation which seen as a plus by sellers as well as EA's. Also, all people are individuals so while I may want to hang on for the best price, my friend mght need to just get their house sold asap because of their own individual curumstances ranging from work to school catchments. Also, if someone makes an offer on a property the seller has to know with 48hrs and its up to the seller to accept so its often simply and in our unfair and imperfect reality, a case of which reasonable offer lands on their doorstep first Again with the property which kept coming back on the market. The reality of estate agency is that things dont always run smoothly. Some sellers get messed about by buyers for months. Its not a nice fact, its just a fact that things go awry ALOT. So there's no dodgy 'saving the property for a friend'. It's most likely just a property in demand but its just been afflicted with bad luck. I know its frustrating but sometimes there's no conspiracy as it were at work, its just that the worlds imperfect. I hope u find that place soon, hows things going lately?
