Heh, I think one of my colleagues has something to do with that site.

Certainly it can prove interesting, though the results are simply from one of the main directory databases - Thomson, I believe.

Still, it's actually probably easier to use than Thomson.

No worries - like I said, it's actually easier to use than Thomson, and it is handy that the locations are already set out.

Another useful link is www.rightmove.com.

It links you to the different properties on the market and through that Estate Agents.

Another good one is www.primelocation.com

Very good for references all over the country.

I use rightmove and primelocation quite a lot.

A couple more:

http://www.vebra.com

Would love to see a central database of properties, though.

If you are looking in a particular area, local authority websites can be useful.

More important, don't forget the good old fashioned local newspapers - the property section is still once of the most effective ways of finding properties.

The newspapers are a good option still, and I've run across a few small ones recently who have a weird link to an Ebay account where you can do a quick purchase of one paper and have it sent to you. 1.50 which is high, but you get it in a day or so. A good option.

Found some newspapers online for the Highlands region. I'll try and get the links from my laptop later.
