To us the choice is simple ...
The hob section should only be gas as it is far more controlable for cooking than electric, which ccan lead to burnt food, or stick saucepans.
We use a gas oven once again for the same reason as we bake a lot.
However we would not dismiss electricfor the oven section, but it would be second choice.
