IF you bought a new electric shower or something similar and are thinking of installing it yourself please think again.
New rules that came into force at the beginning of the year mean that amateur DIYers - no matter how competent - are no longer legally allowed to do many electrical jobs around the house. Ignore them and you risk a hefty fine, and if that does not deter you then the fact that it would undoubtedly affect insurance and hinder a house sale probably should. 10 people die and 750 more are seriously injured each year. Make sure you use a Qualified Electrician....

All domestic electrical work now falls under Part 'P' of the building regulations. Electricians who want to carry out work in a domestic property must be a registered Part P Domestic Installer.
You can do the work yourself and get a registered installer to check the work but not many electricians want to take on the responsibility of someone else's work especially a armature DIY'er |
