But remember if you have a Repayment (capital and interest) type mortgage and are a few years into the repayments of say a 25 year mortgage. If you switch you will have to start another 25 year mortgage to maintain payments at a like for like level. so your 25 year mortgage suddenly becomes 30 year, 35 year millstone. Another good reason for getting the right lender and the right deal at the outset - AND choosing a broker who has your best interests at heart not just repeat business after a 2 year fixed rate.
