House price inflation "subdued"
The Nationwide has reported that house price inflation was subdued in June, the third month in a row.
It places house price inflation at 0.3% for June, and suggests that a slow but steady upward growth trend is now dominant. However, the Nationwide also reported that while first time buyers may be finding it more attractive to move into rented accomodation, a general housing shortfall means that demand may continue. http://www.nationwide.co.uk/hpi/historical/June2006.pdf
