Default LABC 10 year structural defect warranty

"Which" advise to have a structural survey on a new build house. However 2 local surveyors have been clear they know little about modern construction methods and point out that there is little to see in a newly completed building.
It is timber framed and has energy saving features. It is sold with a LABC warranty. One surveyor said since little could be seen the survey would contain a lot of qualifiers. He said the warranty was the most important issue but then could not say how I could assess this. Any ideas anyone?

If you check the Lender's Handbook Section on the CML web site you can see which lenders accept this warranty.
