Default Landlord defaulted and we're being evicted

Just looking for some advice really please.

Moved into a flat in November. Was given eviction notice in December as the landlord defaulted on the mortgage. Was given until 6th March to find somewhere else to live.

Found somewhere with the same agent who said they wouldn’t charge us fees etc. however the landlord paid off the debtors and now the property is back on the market. We weren’t given first refusal to stay but we were told to show people round the property and not to mention the problems we’d had.

Now because it’s back on the market we are being charged the fees. We have paid rent the whole time and we just wanted to know where we stand. Someone did mention that the eviction notice is written confirmation that the tenancy was ending so we weren’t liable for rent. Is this the case? Where do we stand at contesting the charges seeing as they initially said we wouldn’t have to pay them?

We decided to re-rent from the same agent because of their promise of not paying any other fees. We've now signed on the new property but it doesn't have a bathroom as it's being refurbished, can we ask for a rent reduction for the days it's been out of use. The property was vacant for 2 weeks before we moved in but the estate agent only got a quote for the work four days before us signing. We weren't told about the work until the morning we signed.

Also, can we seek compensation from the landlord?

Sorry, a LOT of questions!
