Default Making an offer... tips

Making offers......

We're searching for our next house, we have sold our own and so need to get a move on before buys get twitchy.

We would like a 3-4 bed which we can put our own stamp on it and prefer one that needs some DIY rather than already done.

We found two suitable houses, made offers on both - reasonable offers... both needed alot of investment.

Both houses needed significant investment, all new windows, all new heating, rewiring, new kitchen, new bathroom.

...One in particular could have been a money pit, aka built in 1888 - needed plastering, damp, possible roof fixes, possible dry rot, ceiling collapsed etc.

....Anyway it seems in both instances as soon as we go to place an offer, we are told a cash buyer has come in and makes an offer above or at asking price?

At asking price for both of these houses you can buy a fully refurbished house in the same area of same or even better spec.

...These people cant be developers as both these properties didnt have enough space for significant changes / adding additional property or demolition.

...Are these people making inflated offers only to reduce them once the full survey indicates the house is collapsing?

Doesnt make any sense... any tips?

It is possible they are buying to rent and may charge 4x students (or 5x if they convert a downstairs room to a bedroom) a huge rent which would cover their outlay
