Exclamation mortgage offer withdrawn 1 day before completion

Hi an uncle of mine suffered a setback this week as 1 day before completion his mortgage offer was withdrawn by the Abbey.

i have not had a chance to check the conditions but surely this can't be right,solicitors expenses house moving organized, financial adviser bill etc all costs incurred

Has this been happening to many this past week?

I would contact a solicitor about this - definitely needs a professional opinion.
