I'm not going to waste any more time putting you right as you’ve proven yourself incapable of reasoned debate and you clearly can't read. Where did I ever say that 'mattress ticking and wadding are not made for that very purpose' or that the majority of latex mattresses sold in the US are made from organic latex? You’re the one who is drawing all those ridiculous inferences!

Your reputation precedes you, sir. You seem to have made quite a name for yourself by going around various forums spreading misinformation and trying to deter anyone from buying anything you don’t sell. Just putting the words 'Tim Deegan' and 'bully' together on Google brings up a number of interesting threads!

Luckily, anyone wanting to know the facts about organic vs synthetics mattresses doesn’t have to rely on mattress pedlars like yourself. There’s plently of independent advice and consumer feedback on the internet. I do think there’s a place for man-made fibers (if you’re an astronaut, for example, a memory-foam seat to help cushion and support your body during lift-off can be a life-saver) but that place just isn’t the bedroom, much less the mattress you spend a third of your life on.

Unlike you, I have no axe to grind. I’m just sick to the teeth of off-gassing, smelly, hot-sleeping synthetic foam mattresses. My next mattress will be an organic one but I’m inclined to wait until there’s more choice available. I do find the Abaca mattresses a bit overpriced, so I’m hoping that competition will help bring prices down in the not too distant future. Thank you and goodbye.

You can't edit your posts and then deny what you have said.

You are talking complete rubbish when you say that the majority of latex mattresses in the US are organic. Where on earth did you get that propoganda from?

If you have no axe to grind then why are you trying to tell people lies???

It's about time you came clean about your interest in promoting organic products.

If you were just a consumer, then what makes you think that you know more than someone in the trade (who does actually sell mattresses containing organic latex)?

The fact is that I am telling people the truth, but you don't like it. Yes there are thread posts (mostly by people in the trade who don't like me spilling the beans about the hype and gimmicks used in the bed industry). But you would find 1000's more where people have thanked me.

Oh dear, it just gets more and more delusional! Well, they say 15 minutes of laughter equals the benefit of 2 hours sleep, so if it helps with the falling sales, I say: rave on!

So you are still refusing to disclose your interest in promoting organic products then????

My gran had a horse hair mattress, and it was horrible. The horse hairs used to poke through the mattress making it really itchy.

The horse hair was used mainly as the insulator pad. There are far better products used now. So the horse hair is now used as an expensive gimmick to push the price up.

Great post Crystal very informative, i agree it is a great idea to have an organic mattress but with hard times not always possible to be able to afford them as they are expensive. My friends have had one for many years and said that there's sagged and did smell but another friend who bought a more expensive one had no problems whatsoever so my advice would be to search around for the best quality mattress. also some claim there 100% organic but there actually not..

Natural material are used in organic matters, this material also reduce allergies and other allergens present in man-made materials. But this type of organic matters are more costly then cotton and wool.
