Question Outstanding Service Charges?

Hi,

We're buying a FREEHOLD house, but was told that there is a service charge for maintaining the ground, gate and CCTV.

We wonder if it's worthwhile to check with the management company about any outstanding charges. Is it worth doing, or like utility bills, we shouldn't worry about previous debts?

Thanks,
Lin

Checking the position with regard to such service charges is your solicitor's job.

As a conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful but I accept no liability except to fee-paying clients
