Default oven broken after offer accepted

Our oven has broken after an offer has been accepted for our house. Make was stipulated on estate agent details. Do we have to replace with same make of oven or just a new oven.Thanks.

I would either replace it with a cheap new home or knock £200 off the agreed price.
It is not a deal breaker.

New Homes Expert is right when he says that it is not a deal breaker. However, if the oven's make was stipulated in the estate agent's details, that suggests that the make was a premier brand. Replacing it with a cheaper model would be neither fair nor honest. Why not ask the estate agent to contact the buyer to explain that the oven is broken and to offer either a replacement or money off? That way, the buyer makes the choice and it forestalls any later complaints.

what about just getting the oven repaired?
but otherwise I would get in touch, you never know, the new residents might be bringing thier own deluxe oven or something anyway.
