Pain in Spain?

Anyone got a view on the Spanish market at the moment? I am thinking of buying there and am reading nothing good !!

SAgreed I lived in Barcelona back in 2005 the whole place was a building site, like the rest of the country, talk about over supply. Lots of problems on the costas now, Spain is tost along with the USA and the UK, Australia cant be far behind now. So eh agree with Brian wait and see. If you are looking for pure investment then no, if you are looking to retire and dont care about the money then go for it. The weather is great people are friendly unless you are in an ex pat community and Siesta if fab.

well its now two years since this post and its looking like spanish property is much more realistically priced. however many people going overseas will be faced by other expats trying to offload property at a price where they can get back what they put in or what they feel it is worth.

Buyers are few and far between at the moment and you can get a bargain if you do your research and dont act impetuously - but only buy if you can afford to live and not work there as the employment situation is difficult, especially for migrants.

Spain is a fantastic place to live. The house market in Spain is a good option for a risk-free investment, if you do it in the right way. But if you never understand the Speaking spanish property market appropriately, you and your investment could be very vulnerable. You have to do your own research.
