Default Property renovation

Hi,
Can someone please offer advise. We have purchased a cottage in wales & converted the loft into a bedroom. The property is now on 3 floors - relevant distance ground to top floor is 4700mm.
I believe if we are over 4500mm then bedroom doors etc should be fire doors - is this correct ?

Also, on the ground floor, we have taken down a flimsy corridor & it is now open plan.
With regard to fire regulations - should we replace this corridor, which leads to the stairs, so that there is a route out of the house from upstairs, in case of fire ?

THanks for your help.

Regards,

Simon

You can always go direct to : bwf.org.uk/firedoors/regulations-fire-doors (Regulations & Fire Doors: British Woodworking Federation) and check most of the regulations. There is also a number for them: 0844 209 2618
