I worked for remax its a good system my partner still works there BUT with todays market i wouldet go speading that amount of money now you would be better off doing either A: Your cmap exam Or B: Start a online estate agents up they would be better. With the remax system what they dont tell you is that you give 48% ove your progit to the "owner/broker" that you work under! and if someone sells a hous that you took on you half that again!
so 1000 estate agent fees 52 owner - 48% you= 480 quid if you sell it
if another person in the office sells it (which happens more) thats halfed again! so your left with 240 for.....3months work?! yer so not that nice. If the market was busy its great!

Jope that helps

I have three questions;

1. Did you REALLY sign up to work there, without knowing the terms under which you would be paid?

2. How long were you with them?

3. While you were there, did you write your brochures, web descriptions etc with the same grammatical care that you took over this posting?

Mmmmm, Ok, I don't understand why people on here are so rude!

At the end of the day.....it was sound advice....we are all trying to help eachother...

Why does'nt the administrators stop this happening????

Googler...... I have seen a number of postings where you have slated people....as a newbie and the guy you slated here is a newbie too it doesnt give many people hope.

The Remax system works...you have alot of support with a world wide brand.

He explained the system correctly. It works...and if you pay a desk fee you can earn upto 80% of your commision.

Even with the market the way it is, there is still money to be made!!! Every one has to move.

Regarding "Grammer" It's all about the way you come accross to a client!! Not how well you write on a forum.

The reason the split is 48/52 in an offices favour is because they provide the marketing material plus "write up the property details"

You need to be a people person to be an estate agent......

I can not believe I have just spent this much time typeing this but "google" you should really stop being so rude...it is not nice.

Because the admin is too busy looking out for newbies who are cluttering the forum with spam, maybe.... he 'doesn't' stop this happening....

"Give people hope" ??? Hope for what? Are you really suggesting that every new poster on this forum should be nurtured by those who've been around here a while, and should be immune from criticism...?

Rude? I disagree. Hyper-critical of those who come here apparently as professionals, and are unable to put a sentence or two together in decent English, and sometimes can't even spell 'professional'. Hyper-critical of those who claim they have the be-all-and-end-all of online selling websites, but on inspection seem to have little or no web traffic and apparently ineffective sites. If someone is making false or over-inflated claims, why shouldn't they be brought down a peg or two?

As I said somewhere else in these forums, I judge people by what they say in public, whether Estate Agent, Politician, Plumber, Joiner, whatever.

'It' might be about the way you come across to a client to secure their business, but if your client shares the same grammatical slapdash approach, they won't notice your shortcomings. The general public (to whom you'll now be trying to sell your client's property) may well take a different view of your "grammer" (yup, I noticed...), and judge you by it. If you write your brochures or weblistings with the same grammatical approach as the previous poster, they surely won't impress .....

I asked the previous poster if he wrote that way when he was an estate agent because I was keenly aware of the difference between posting in a forum, and his previous work, and was aware he might have been more slapdash here than there. I'm trying to establish whether his writing in forums differs from his writing on the previous job, and if it doesn't, suggest this might shed some light on why he's no longer there .......

I think divergence of opinion, even strong ones, are necessarily a part of the property industry. If HomeMove believed only one method was correct, and denied a voice to others, I think that would be even worse for the community.

I take a sort of pub-landlord approach to forums - people can disgree, even strongly, so long as it doesn't get out of hand - if it becomes disruptive and personal fights erupt, then I'll need to step in to calm things down.

I've been administrating forums for about 8 years now, and I've seen how bad they can get sometimes. This thread doesn't even come close to a danger zone.

People who invest a lot of time and money into their own method will necessarily defend their view, and even argue against other views to help justify their decision, but I'm fine with that, so long as it forms a constructive discourse people find interesting and useful as a reference. I think this is one of the more interesting threads on the HomeMove forums precisely because there are different opinions being expressed and debated.

2c.
