Default Shared Entrance to Garden or Separate Entrance

I live in a terraced house and both my neighbour and me have our own front garden but the entrance gate is shared in the middle with a archway. The original property deeds show separate entrances which I could revert to if it wasn't for the archway that is on both properties. I believe that having a separate entrance would add to the property value as opposed to a shared when it comes to either selling or letting it out; are there any experts who can confirm this for me?

Thanks

Andy.
