Interesting to see this comments on the thread - Spain is already in collapse, but not sure if the Dubai bubble has burst yet?

Default Property investment in Mauritius

We've been looking at buying overseas for some time now and we're now looking at these properties in Mauritius (see Emerald Heights Mauritius). We have searched the internet and read as much as we can on Mauritius but everything we read obviously only promotes the island.

We'd like to know people's thoughts on whether it is a good place to invest as the website suggests. Also any insider knowledge on the island would be appreciated.

PS. Government officials need not respond.

Thank you in advance for your help.

What about Cyprus? I believe the prices in the Town centres have droped and for sure they will elevate again? Any one got any comments on Cyprus?

Portugal has always been a great place for property, there are still some great bargains around, especially away from the tourist regions.
Take a look at some of the properties and prices here.

Sorry, but still very over-priced.

Yes, as a renovation project.

Sorry, I just think a lot of the overseas property is still very over priced.

This applies to all countries.

Hi Brian, when it comes to Price, the Algarve, parts of the silver coast, Lisbon, etc have always been a higher price. but out of these regions there are plenty of really good value for money properties, even for restored property.
e.g
fully restored country house, 58,000 euros
Property for sale central Portugal: 2 Storey restored House for sale near Tomar

another one, 3 bed fully restored. 69,000 euros
Property for sale in central Portugal: 3 Bed Detached Cottage with land for sale near Serta

Default Re: Where to buy investments

Well think it is safe to say that since this thread was started things in the world of property investment have changed a little. I understand Dubai's market has more or less completely collapsed, Spain has awful problems and Bulgaria has seen property prices plummet back down to 2007 levels.

However, for the investor or someone looking for a lifestyle change this means it is a buyers market and there are lots of good offers around.

As someone who has been involved in property in Bulgaria for several years, the market is slowly starting to pick up with enquiries from people looking to move to sunnier climates and cheaper places to live, but it will be a while before the market recovers.
