Hi All,
Just a quick question as I haven't got a clue! But, I am due to start a full time job September/October 2010 once my pin number comes through (recently qualified nurse), what I would like to ask is, would a mortgage lender take my wage in consideration along with my husbands' wage or would they just consider my husbands' wage because I haven't yet started the job?? Many thanks, Jen x |

Hi Jen,
Some lenders in the past have been happy to take account of a future wage so long as you have written confirmation that you have been offered the position from the employer but, as you are no doubt aware, in recent times landers have tightened up their criteria significantly. It may still be possbile to get this agreed and I would suggest that the best thing to do is find a reputable local mortgage broker who can talk things through with you and discuss the situation with a number of lenders on your behalf.

Which papers do you have concerning your new job and wage ?
If you have any official documentation from the medical institute you are planning to join about your future salary ? If you can get any signed official paper, it might help, other wise, as a lender I would not bet on "wishful thinking"..
