Default Your opinion on EPCS's Do we really need them

They got rid of the HIPS. Do you think they will eventually get rid of the EPC. I dont know anyone who has done anything to make their property more energy efficient as a direct result of an EPC survey. e.g. the boiler is old, but boilers are becoming more efficient as time goes on, so why not just wait for the next time a new boiler is needed.

Insulation. if this is to be done, its not for energy efficiency, more rather to cure condensation. the first time an EPC engineer came round, for £120.00 i was expecting him to be here the full afternoon, when he was only in what seemed like five minutes.

Just wondered what people may have thought.

The EPC is ridiculous - complete waste of time.

At least in Scotland the Home Survey providers a basic structural survey, ie, identify damp, building integrity, repairs required, etc. That was very good and useful information that should always have been the heart of HIPs.
