Those looking to renovate their property may be interested to know about the Renovation A – Z Weekend, which will be held at the National Self Build & Renovation Centre in Swindon on 24th and 25th May.
The weekend will provide expert advice and ideas for upgrading, improving and refurbishing your property.
A renovation project can present many problems such as rotten timber, dodgy wiring, leaky roofs and draughty windows.
The show provides advice about avoiding the pitfalls and mistakes and understanding and interpreting your building survey.
Leading industry professionals such as architects, loft experts, design and planning experts and project managers, will be at the seminar.
The weekend also includes a guided tour of the Centre’s unique Renovation House.
Since the introduction of Channel 4’s Property Ladder, buying an older property and renovating it has become extremely popular among Britons, and for some, quite lucrative.
The renovation market is worth an estimated £15 billion each year, with more than 300,000 planning applications submitted for extensions, refurbishments, conversions and other home improvements.
Tim Doherty, managing director at the National Self Build & Renovation Centre, said whether its finding a renovation project, valuing and purchasing a property, securing finance, understanding building regulations, tackling problems such as damp or subsidence, restoring original features or finding materials and tools, the Renovation A – Z Weekend has it covered.
You can never be too careful when buying an older property, so it’s vital to be aware of all the hazards and problems you could encounter, and more importantly, how to deal with them. Our experts and advisors will be on hand to answer any questions and give independent advice to help you make the right decisions about your project, concluded Mr Doherty.
