Request for full Hips roll out

Home Information Packs (Hips) are now a compulsory part of the home-selling process for a UK property with 3 or more bedrooms and The Association of Home Information Pack Providers (AHIPP) is calling for the government to roll out the scheme to all UK properties so that buyers and sellers can see the full benefits.

A spokesperson for AHIPP said that currently, anyone selling a home with 3 or more bedrooms and buying a 1 or 2 bedroom property is penalised by having to pay for the information in a Hip on the sale and also on the purchase.

The spokesperson added that Hips need to be extended to all properties in order for them to be efficient. AHIPP added that Hips would be particularly beneficial for first-time buyers and will speed up the whole buying and selling process.

The spokesperson concluded that the number of Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs) needed to provide Energy Performance certificates has also been accomplished.
