An off-market deal has been brokered by DTZ for the sale of a 1.7-acre development site at Cardonald Business Park near Glasgow airport.
The site has been acquired by Business Homes Ltd, a leading developer of small business parks. Business Homes is planning to build six office pavilions, ranging in size from 3,043 sq ft to 6,168 sq ft, together with 86 car parking spaces on the site.
Business Homes has successfully developed a similar scheme at Glasgow Airport Business Park, where all the units were either sold or pre-let before the development was completed.
The company currently has six other business park developments under construction in Scotland - in Aberdeen, Dunfermline, East Kilbride, Livingston and close to Edinburgh.
The business park specialist felt there was strong demand for another similar development in Glasgow.
DTZ approached Shepherd Developments, the owner of the site at Cardonald Business Park, and concluded the deal, off-market, in a short space of time. The site benefits from excellent transport links, given its proximity to the M8 and Glasgow Airport.
DTZ and Ryden will be retained as joint letting agents for the development.
