Hurstwood Construction placed into administration

The Hurstwood Group, one of the North West’s leading independent property developers and contractors, has placed its construction firm into administration.
Hurstwood Group’s commercial, investment, development, housebuilding and land trading operations are unaffected by the decision.
The regrettable but necessary decision to wind up Hurstwood Construction was taken only after all other possibilities had been exhausted.
A winding up petition was received from a sub-contractor. The company has significant outstanding debts owed to it which could have made a difference, but unfortunately time ran out when the petition was received.
The decision was prompted by funding problems on the Howard Town Mill project in Glossop, Derbyshire.
Glossop Mill is a £10m conversion of an existing mill into a mix of homes, shops and offices.
Hurstwood Construction had an impressive position as a market leader, working nationwide on prestigious schemes in a variety of marketplaces.
