Prospective overseas property investors are being advised to ask for advice when planning an investment in foreign destinations.
There are many variations on the legal side when buying a property overseas, with good advice you can ensure things progress smoothly. If this is your first investment, it is essential that you seek help from a bank or a broker to make sure the investment goes to plan and unless you invest in an English speaking country, remember that contracts are written in a foreign language.
It is imperative to do some serious homework, understand what you want from your overseas property as you will be spending thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of pounds.
According to research, the most popular places for investment continue to be France or Spain with increasing number of people looking to retire abroad rather than making an investment in a holiday home.
