Yorkshire Building Society reduces mortgage rates

From Friday 31st August, Yorkshire Building Society is cutting the cost of all its fixed rate mortgages and the discounted deals are available on all 2, 3, 5 and 10 year fixed rate products.

The new deals include fee free mortgages which have cash incentives for those moving home and free valuation and legal costs for those who simply want to transfer their mortgage.

In addition, home-movers and re-mortgagors have the choice of either a low rate with a higher fee or a lower fee with a higher rate.

2 year mortgages:
4.99% fixed rate – 2% fee
5.69% fixed rate – £795 fee
6.44% fixed rate – no fee, includes incentives

3 year mortgages:
5.19% fixed rate – 2% fee
5.69% fixed rate – £795 fee
6.44% fixed rate – no fee, includes incentives

5 year mortgages:
5.59% fixed rate – 2% fee
5.79% fixed rate – £795 fee
6.44% fixed rate – no fee, includes incentives

10 year mortgages:
5.69% fixed rate – 2% fee
5.79% fixed rate – £795 fee
6.44% fixed rate – no fee, includes incentives

A spokesperson for the Yorkshire Building Society highlighted that this new range is in addition to their 25 year long term fixed rate and guarantees a suitable product for every borrower seeking a fixed mortgage rate. By taking advantage of the latest instability in the markets, Yorkshire Building Society is passing on the lower rates to its members.
