Stewart Milne offers new incentives to first-time buyers

Stewart Milne Homes has launched a concierge service aimed at making life easier for first-time buyers.

The Aberdeen-based housing developer with projects across Scotland and the North of England is providing a range of incentives including payment of the deposit plus legal and survey fees.

The company, which specialises in family homes and apartments, is also offering a reduced reservation fee of £90 plus a furniture pack that includes a sofa and a bed in a choice of designs and fabrics.

The new service includes access to advice for first-time buyers on a ways and means of getting a foot on the property ladder, such as joining forces with a friend or family member to share mortgage costs.

In related news, regulations aimed at preventing inflated property valuations came into force earlier this month.

Under the new regime, which has the support of the Council of Mortgage Lenders, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Law Society of England & Wales, developers and builders must advise lenders if they have offered buyers incentives.
