Land Data is the new name for The Council for the National Land and Property Information Service (C-NLIS).
The new name has been formed as a name and brand which will make the company more recognisable to its stakeholders.
Alex Fraser, the organisation’s CEO, said this is an important change for the company. Market research showed us there was confusion between the brand names C-NLIS and NLIS, the National Land Information Service which delivers electronic property search services, which we manage.
It was a strategic decision to change the company name and one that I believe demonstrates to our stakeholders the breadth of our offering in the property searches market. Land Data gives us a name and brand that provides greater clarity whilst also reflecting our broader vision for the future, added Mr Fraser.
NLIS is managed by Land Data - The Council for the National Land & Property Information Service, a community interest company committed to making property search information increasingly accessible to the general public.
So far, the organisation has processed more than 14 million searches for UK homebuyers and continues to help improve the homebuying process.
Through the NLIS hub, users can access information from 410 Local Authorities, national parks, Land Registry, the Coal Authority and water companies, in an electronic format.
