Brighton growing in popularity

According to Email4Property.co.uk, Brighton is becoming an alternative for London commuters who cannot afford to buy in the capital but still desire the city lifestyle.

The average property price in Brighton is just over £250,000 compared to the average price of just over £300,000 for a property in London. Furthermore, in Brighton, prices are increasing slower, up 7% since the end of last year.

Estate agent Knight Frank reported this week that annual growth figures in London are 36.5%. A spokesperson for Email4Property.co.uk commented that Brighton is highly competitive when compared to other areas of the south-east. Many young professionals and first-time buyers are still able to afford a home here.

Email4Property.co.uk added that London to Brighton takes just under an hour by train. Brighton presents a real alternative to those living and working in the area, in addition to commuters to the capital looking for a lively city lifestyle.

Terraced properties sold for an average of £275,754, compared with £394,247 and £251,700 for detached and semi-detached properties respectively.
