Photographer wants to help Estate Agents take better pictures

Commercial and landscape photographer, Keith Cooper of Leicester-based Northlight Images, is encouraging estate agents to take better quality photos of properties on the market.

The housing slowdown has been gathering pace as prices continue to fall, the amount of transactions are also falling and the number of people viewing properties is dwindling.

According to Mr Cooper, a quick glance at a local agent’s window will show many poor quality photographs and some estate agents are now realising that taking a better picture will entice people through the door.

Mr Cooper believes that agents can benefit from his expertise and believes that an expensive new camera isn’t always necessary and learning how to use the camera is the key.

Mr Cooper produces short courses and seminars that are helping agencies across the nation to improve their photography.

Estate agents can also benefit from a short course, often in a vacant property to improve their basic photography skills.

Estate agents have suffered as a result of the housing slowdown and have been criticised recently by the Law Society for not commissioning Home Information Packs when a property goes on the market, something which by law they are obliged to do.

In addition, it was recently revealed that approximately 150 estate agents are closing each week in the UK, according to business monitor company, Debtwire.

Mr Cooper concludes by saying good photos will help get viewings, without this, a sale won’t be achieved.
