Italy has been named as the most sought after overseas investment hotspot for Britons seeking property abroad.
According to theMoveChannel.com, the international property portal, the country emerged as the most enquired after location during February, taking 8.5% of all searches.
The statistics also reveal that Spain came in second as the prime destination for Britons looking for property abroad, having overtaken France which was toppled from first place.
Meanwhile, outside Europe, Brazil is creating strong interest among property investors.
The nation recently topped the Morgan Stanley Capital International Global Emerging Markets Index, as the world’s biggest emerging market, ahead of China.
Dan Johnson, managing director of theMoveChannel.com says: “Brazil has a unique blend of attractions for property investors: It has a strong economy, with good regional and global trade links, an increasingly diverse service sector and all sorts of natural resources that it can leverage.”
According to market analysts, Datamonitor, younger buyers in particular are increasingly interested in Brazil and other emerging markets because of high property yields.
