Lloyds TSB has introduced a free mobile phone text service which provides customers with updates on their mortgage application process. Customers applying for a mortgage through Lloyds TSB will receive text alerts such as:-

‘Welcome to Lloyds TSB - application received’
‘Application authorised’
‘Offer letter issued’
‘Delighted to confirm your mortgage application has completed’.

Lloyds TSB have commented that buying a house can be a traumatic time so having progress reports at all key stages of the mortgage application can be reassuring.
