Home and Legacy, the building and contents insurer, has launched a new product aimed at landlords.
Home and Legacy Let is available through intermediaries to those who are letting their main or second home, as well as individuals and businesses that hold large rental portfolios.
Premiums are the same for professional, student, and housing benefit tenants and landlord-specific legal expenses cover is included as standard.
This cover will assist with the eviction of squatters, and disputes between landlord and tenant.
Optional extensions to buildings and contents cover can be arranged i.e. accidental damage, and malicious damage/theft by tenant.
There is also an option to include rental cashflow protection, which covers a landlord’s rental income should a tenant default on payments.
The policy provides access to emergency domestic services and legal help lines that are open 24 hours, 365 days a year.
Barry O’Neill, managing director of Home and Legacy, says: “We are very excited about the launch of this new Let product. We have a very strong team of individuals who each have extensive experience in the development of niche products such as Home and Legacy Let.
Home and Legacy policies are underwritten by seven of the UK’s leading insurers: Allianz, AXA, Groupama, Legal and General, Norwich Union, NIG and Sterling.
