Housebuilder Stewart Milne Homes is benefiting from the renewed optimism in the Scottish housing market after experiencing a positive increase in sales on their quality homes since the start of 2009.
Since the start of the year, the premium housebuilder said sales figures in areas of their Scottish portfolio have seen a month-on-month rise with an upturn of over 100% between February and March 2009.
The group offers a range of incentives aimed at buyers such as tailor-made purchase plans for individuals which can assist with mortgages.
Commenting on the increase in sales, John Slater, Group Managing Director – Homes, says: “We believe the increased visitor and enquiry levels show a renewed optimism.
We work closely with our customers to tailor purchase plans that make owning a Stewart Milne home an affordable reality. Evidence of this is our ABeleven development in Aberdeen where sales have doubled each month since the start of the year. It shows that with the right location and the right homes, consumers are interested in buying again.”
Recent data suggests that Scotland is the only area of the UK that has experienced any price increases over the last 12 months.
Furthermore, over 50% of people expect house prices to remain the same or see a marginal increase over the next six months, while 66% think that now is a good time to purchase a property.
