The trend for city living has grown over the last few years and a vast amount of city centre apartments have come up for sale. Rundown parts of city centres have been regenerated and warehouses have been transformed into luxurious living spaces.
A spokesperson for City residential, the property brokers which specialise in city centre markets, commented that people are not looking away from city centre living or investments in city centre property. City centre properties are a good investment and there is a vast amount of people still looking to live in the city centre. City residential receives many enquiries about property in the city centre and their lettings department is exceptionally busy from that viewpoint.
According to figures from Manchester UK, over half of the homes in Manchester city centre are occupied by a single person. Approximately 40% of city centre residents earn over £20,000 per annum and 59% of these work in the city centre. In the last 17 years, over 7,000 people have moved into Manchester city centre.
The young are attracted to city centre living as it offers them closeness to the city for work and socialising. Manchester UK added that people living in city centres experience the city lifestyle, being close to the office and having a great social life is important to them.
