Property investment becoming popular in Great Yarmouth

Great Yarmouth was once considered one of the wealthiest towns in Britain due to its prosperous herring industry.

However, it is now becoming a popular hotspot for property investment as a new harbour development is raising the profile of the seaside according to Charles Bycroft & Co estate agents.

Charles Bycroft & Co said the buy-to-let market is quite strong and there is a high level of immigrants in the town centre, in terms of Portuguese and Eastern Europeans who have come to work in the area.

The agent added that it is noticeable that investors are looking at the seaside town as a growing area with the Outer Harbour Scheme being put into practice.

Together with Government, European and Local Authority funding, over £30 million private and public sector funds has already been invested into the regeneration of Great Yarmouth. Construction of the outer harbour to commence shortly and is certain to transform the future of Great Yarmouth.
