£1.5m hotel investment opens soon in Masham

The Royal Bank of Scotland has provided financial support for the conversion of derelict brewery offices in Masham, North Yorkshire, into a hotel and conference centre.

Theakston’s Brewery is investing £1.5m in the conversion to create a 13-bed hotel, a penthouse suite, residents’ lounge, function room and two meeting rooms.

The work is being carried out by Darlington-based Wharton Construction and is scheduled for completion this summer.

Masham is a very popular spot in North Yorkshire and the development of the White Bear will help meet the growing demand for accommodation and for local meeting facilities.

The new hotel premises at the White Bear will fit well with the company’s hospitality vision, and the location is perfect for the flourishing tourist trade.
