Buy-to-let market is active as student numbers rise

An increasing number of investors are getting onto the buy-to-let ladder as student numbers continue to rise in the UK.

The number of landlords with student accommodation means that the buy-to-let market is full of activity as investors are gaining a good return on rental property.

Many students do not have the funds to apply for a mortgage so renting a property is sometimes the only option which is why this market is so consistent. Statistics show that there are at least 25 million students in higher education, 40% of these are living in rented accommodation. It is recommended that those looking towards this market be aware of the Houses of Multiple Occupancy (HMOs) licensing and other contracts before taking this step.
