Review to encourage private rental investment
Permalink: Review to encourage private rental investment
by Gill Montia
Sir Adrian Montague has issued a formal call for evidence to support his independent review of the barriers faced by institutional investors looking to enter the UK’s private rental sector (PRS).
The review forms part of the Government’s housing strategy and will consider ways and means of boosting investment in the over-stretched PRS from, for example, insurance companies.
The aim is to allow the sector to grow rapidly and Sir Adrian will focus in particular on whether changes that the Government has already introduced go far enough to generate significant new inflows of cash.
If not, he will come up with some fresh ideas to encourage institutional investors.
Submissions are sought by 31st March and Sir Adrian’s findings and recommendations should be with ministers in June.
