Plans for £30m commercial and residential development in Bradford

In a joint venture with Leeds & Regional Properties, Leeds-based developer Landmark Development Projects is proposing to build both commercial and residential accommodation on a disused site in Woodside, south of Bradford city centre.

A planning application for a £30m mixed-use development to revitalise the derelict site has been submitted.

The plans have been under discussion with council officers in Bradford for over 18 months to arrive at the right balance of uses for the site.

The plan is to transform what is a disused allocated employment site into a pleasant environment where businesses can thrive and much needed new homes can be provided.

Water courses will be opened up throughout the site to enhance local wildlife in the area.

A total of 85,000 sq ft of new business units, ranging from 1,100 sq ft upwards, will offer space for start-up businesses in the area.

The new scheme also proposes 115 homes which the developers say are needed to sustain land value and subsequently provide support funding for significant infrastructure to deliver the business element.
