According to Hamptons International estate agents, the most desirable place to live in London is Notting Hill.

Research performed during London fashion week recently discovered that the west London area remained the capital’s favourite, with prices rising by 45% in the previous 3 years.

According to Hamptons, the colour and variety of Portobello market and the annual carnival are favourites with the locals and have helped develop the area’s status over the last few years.

Kensington in the south-west of London has also proved popular. In the last year, prices have risen 32%, based on the area’s closeness to the outstanding shopping streets of Kensington along with the well-known King’s Road.

Furthermore, converted buildings such as churches, a school house, penthouses with roof terraces and views and period properties have all proved popular.

Islington was also popular among fashionable property buyers - artists, entrepreneurs, models and music industry figures now form 12% of property purchases in the area.
