Renovating a derelict property is a good investment

Restoring old, rundown properties is still a sound investment for many property investors. Restoring a ruined property has, in the past, become a valid way of taking your first step onto the property ladder and taking on something that other people didn’t want to do. Many are prepared to over pay for a property that isn’t actually worth a great deal of money.

It is still a popular way of buying your first house. A basic cottage in the country could be bought for around £125,000. Many TV programmes promoting this kind of renovation have made this method very popular.

It is advised that “conservative repair” is high priority and providing that renovation is done to a high standard using the right materials, the value of the property should increase considerably.
